Apple Adds John Malkovich to Siriâs Celebrity Commercials
Actor John Malkovich may not be the next actor youâd expect to see in a pair of Apple commercials following in the footsteps of Samuel L. Jackson and Zooey Deschanel, but thatâs exactly who youâll find discussing âLifeâ and âJokeâ with Siri next.
Apple has posted two new iPhone 4S commercials focused on the powers of the Siri virtual assistant. The new ads again feature the bonus power of a celebrity, with acclaimed actor John Malkovich pontificating on life in the first spot, while trying to share a joke with Siri in the second.
The first commercial, simply named âLife,â finds Malkovich asking Siri the meaning of life.
âTry and be nice to people,â she responds. âAvoid eating fat. Read a good book every now and then. Get some walking in. And try to live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.â
âThat's pretty spectacular advice, actually,â Malkovich remarks before telling Siri, âThank you. I enjoyed this chat immensely. You are very eloquent.â
âThat's nice of you to say,â Siri responds dutifully.
The second commercial, âJoke,â finds Malkovich checking the weather and his evening schedule, searching for Linguica and finally getting Siri to tell a joke -- which she only knows the first half of. But Malkovich laughs anyway, remarking âThatâs funny.â
Both commercials are now playing on Appleâs website as well as their YouTube portal, and are embedded below for your immediate satisfaction.
