How to Get Around Your Firewall in iTunes
Every time I open iTunes, a dialog asks, “Do you want the application iTunes.app to accept incoming network conections?†It has a Deny and Allow button. I have checked to make sure that iTunes is able to allow connections from within the firewall, but it still does this every time I open the app. I don’t want to be bugged by this dialog any longer!
Many people have had this issue crop up in OS X, and luckily, it’s a fairly simple fix. To get iTunes working like normal, you’ll need to delete a configuration file for the firewall in OS X. To do this, open a new Finder window, press Command-Shift-G, and type the following directory path: /Library/Preferences/.
Deleting the firewall configuration usually fixes this nagging issue.
Next, locate the file named com.apple.alf.plist. This is your firewall preference file. Move it to the Desktop, so that it no longer appears in this Preferences folder, and then restart your Mac. The issue should no longer appear, even after re-enabling your Firewall settings.
