Free App Friday: Never Wait in Line at Five Guys Again

I've been trying hard to eat better lately (my newest obsession is Menu Planner, a universal app that lets me add my own recipes, plan healthy meals for the week, create grocery lists, and keep track of what's already in my pantry), but when summer weekends get busy, my absolute favorite place to grab a quick bite is Five Guys Burgers & Fries. The burgers are tasty, the topping choices are many, the fries are optionally drenched in heavenly Cajun seasoning, and (deep breath), you can order with an iOS app and skip the line.

Let me pause to say that again. You can order from your phone. And skip the line.

Welcome to Five Guys (The App). Can I take your order?

The free, universal Five Guys app can find your nearest Five Guys location and give you directions for getting there. While you're en route, set up an account, add a credit card, and build an order. It's fun to check the boxes for all your favorite toppings (hot sauce and jalapenos and grilled onions? Sure, just don't breathe on me, okay?), and if you always get the same exact thing, you can save those orders for later. You pay right in the app with your credit card, and get an email confirmation.

It'll save your credit card information, naturally.

Then just show up, go straight to the pickup area, and tell them your name. The last time I did this, all I had to do was stroll up to the counter and they immediately said, "Susie? Are you Susie?" Yeah, I'm a Five Guys big shot, I guess. The people in line were totes jealous.

Oh, and they don't actually serve up your fries until you get there. So there's no chance of getting cold icky fries.

Bonus: The Five Guys nearest me has a super-cool touchscreen self-serve soda fountain that will pour you a Cherry Vanilla Caffeine Free Diet Coke. Is that even a thing?!

If you forget to order drinks? The app can remind you. If you never, ever order drinks? The app will never remind you again. It just wants to help, you know?

OK, I am literally drooling at my keyboard right now. It's lunch time. It's Friday. I'm going to Five Guys.
