How to Polish and Premiere Your iMovie Trailer on the iPad
After you've made your movie trailer with iMovie, you'll want to spruce it up a bit with special effects so that the "premiere" of it doesn't turn out to be anticlimactic. You can tweak the timing of your clips, customize what order they show up in, and adjust the audio to really hone in on the dialogue of a specific scene. Read on to find out how!
1. Customize the Outline

Jump back to Outline view by tapping its tab. There are some revisions we can make here, including changing the movie name, the sex of the star, and the style of the company logo that appears at the beginning.
2. Tweaking the Timing of Your Clips

Now go back to Storyboard mode and tap your first video clip at the top. This opens the Edit Shot window where the Video Browser usually resides, with your current clip centered in yellow and the head of the clip indicated with a vertical red line. Touch, hold, and move your finger left or right to adjust the video shown in this clip; to preview the new selection, tap the Play button in brackets below.
3. Replace Any Weak Clips

If you have any clips that donât seem to belong, theyâre easy to replace. Select the video clip and tap Remove at the bottom of the Edit Shot window. Now the well is empty again and the screen jumps back to the Video Browser; if you change your mind, tap the Undo arrow at the top-right corner of the screen.
4. Adjust the Audio

While Apple includes professional music with each trailer template, there may be clips where youâd prefer to hear audio from your video as well. Select a clip to switch to Edit Shot mode, then tap the speaker icon in the upper right; it will turn blue, indicating that its audio will now be played and mixed into your trailer. Tap the Play button in brackets to confirm the change.
5. Find an Audience

Now letâs share your creation with the world. Tap the My Projects button in the upper-left corner of the Viewer and touch the Share icon at the bottom of the screen. From here you can export the trailer to your Camera Roll in one of four sizes ranging from Medium (360p) to full 1080p HD or share it via social networks YouTube, Facebook, or Vimeo. This is also a great time to kick back and AirPlay your trailer to the Apple TV to share with loved ones on the big screen!
