Comic-Con: Endeavor Bros. Preview "The Adventures of Retrobot"
Comic-Con International kicks off on Thursday in San Diego, and developers are already taking advantage of the event by previewing some of their upcoming App Store titles, including the game/comic fusion The Adventures of Retrobot.
Endeavor Bros. and Monkube today previewed their upcoming mobile game The Adventures of Retrobot, which will land in the App Store for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in mid-July, followed soon after by original digital and print comic series.
The Adventures of Retrobot offers intense tank shooter action, epic boss battles and is supercharged with a story about a DIY robot built as a gaming buddy whoâs out to save his maker from the evil robots whoâve taken over the world. The tale is brought to life through The Active Reader technology, which allows for interactive and âactiveâ comic story panels. Adding in a bit of slapstick video game humor, Retrobot and sidekick Totoâs tale is filled with events thatâll remind any gamer of their fondest gaming moments.
âThe Adventures of Retrobot is the perfect balance of interactive graphic novel content and addictive gameplay that we believe comic and mobile gaming fans are going to love,â said Adam Heat, Co-Founder of Endeavor Bros. âOur partner Monkubeâs success with 6th Planet and mutual interest and expertise in the fields of comics and games was critical in fusing these two genres together.â
Retrobot also comes from a good pedigree, uniting comic publisher Ape Entertainment (Pocket God Comics), former Gameloft producer Newrosoft (N.O.V.A.), animated comic book forerunners Tall Chair (Brave comic) and Maurits âMoâ Goossens, a member of Monkube's in-house music team whose work with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra includes feature films like The Aviator.
To celebrate the upcoming launch, Facebook users are invited to like the Endeavor Bros. page for a chance to win an iPad or $500 Amazon Gift Card. The Adventures of Retrobot is expected to arrive in mid-July on the App Store.
