Windows 8 is far and away the most “Bing Centric†operating system to ever come out of Redmond, and if adoption is as brisk as Microsoft hopes, Google should be quite nervous. Novice users might get sucked into Microsoft’s cloud by accident, and considering how great all the new services are, Google risks never getting them back. So what’s the solution? A hilarious new video showing how to “Get Your Google Backâ€.
If you don’t feel like watching the video we can simplify things a bit. Just load up your metro version of Internet Explorer, head on over to getyourgoogleback.com , and start mashing install buttons. The goal is to make it easy for users to grab the metro search app, along with the ever familiar and powerful Chrome browser. If visit the site from a Windows 8 AMD or Intel based machine, then Chrome will install both the metro and desktop versions at once.
POWER USER TIP: Don’t sign into your Chrome account using the Metro version of the browser on your first launch. Your synchronized extensions for some reason don’t always get added to the desktop version, which if you're using desktop, can be a huge pain. I'm sure this will be fixed soon enough, but has continued to plagued me since the release preview.
