Silverstone Preps Zeus Series ZM1350 Power Supply for Retail

Silverstone Zeus Series ZM1350 RearAfter reportedly making the rounds at several trade shows, Silverstone is just about ready to offer up its flagship Zeus Series ZM1350 power supply to retail. On paper, the ZM1350 is a beastly PSU that pushes the limit of how much output wattage is reasonably attainable from a typical home outlet. It's rated at 1,350W of continuous output, and up to 1,500W of peak power at 50C.

Loaded with bells and whistles, the ZM1350 is completely modular for easy cable management and 80 Plus Silver certified. It has six all-important +12V rails, each capable of carrying up to 30A (not all at once), though with the flip of the switch, you can hop over to single +12V rail mode with 105A available. There are also user adjustable voltage pots for the +3.3V, +5V, and +12V rails, a feature we haven't seen too much of lately.

Silverstone claims the ZM1350 is built with "industrial grade components" that offer low ripple and noise with strict +/- 1 percent voltage regulations, which is a technical way of saying this is supposed to be a high-quality/high-performance power supply. Interestingly, cooling duties are handled by an 80mm dual-ball bearing fan (with speed control switch) rather than a larger 120mm fan. It's impossible to judge these things without playing with them in person, but it does make us wonder how loud the PSU might get under heavy loads as the 80mm fan ramps up. A larger fan would be able to move more air at a slower (and quieter) RPM.

No word yet on price or availability, though we're thinking "expensive" and "soon."
