Foremay Flips the Script on 2.5-inch SSDs, Launches World's First 2TB Model

Foremay 2TB SSDAll hail the only 2.5-inch 2TB SSD on the planet.

What's that you say, today's solid state drives (SSDs) don't offer enough capacity to hold your interest, let alone all your precious data? Well then you'll be happy to know that a company called Foremay has unveiled what it claims is the world's first 2.5-inch 2TB SSD with a thickness of 9.5mm. Is that enough to replace your aging mechanical hard drive?

"By leveraging Foremay's patent pending technologies, we are proud to deliver the world's first 2TB SSD in standard 2.5" SATA form factor," said Jack Winters, Foremay's CTO and co-founder. "We hope our high reliability 2 TB SSD drives can help create more design freedom and storage space for both mission-critical and enterprise applications."

The drive is offered in Foremay's SC199 family for mission-critical applications and TC166 line for terminal computing. Models are available to OEM buyers in both industrial and commercial flavors, depending on where the capacious drive will end up.

No word yet on price.
