The 18 best Windows 8 apps at launch
Love it or hate it Microsoft has launched Windows 8 and Windows RT, bringing with it a new Start experience and the Windows Store. We have mixed feelings on the whole idea ourselves, but that didn’t stop us from downloading a bunch of Windows 8 apps as soon as they dropped. Several of these replicate functionality we would usually get with a browser-based app, and you can certainly still do that on a Windows 8 PC, but having an app designed for Windows 8 can be handy, in particular for anybody rocking Metro on a touch screen.
