Strategy veterans announce Kickstarter campaign for a new team-based, action-strategy game. Developer Petroglyph is hoping to raise $700,000 through Kickstarter to fund Victory, a World War II team-based, action-strategy game set where the gamer collects companies of units and does battle in quick online matches. Petroglyph's team is mostly comprised of former Command & Conquer developers. They have nine titles under the collective belt and two more in development, including Victory. Victory is not a real-time strategy (RTS) because there's no base building or resource management, nor is it a free-to-play game. So what exactly is it? "If World of Tanks, StarCraft, and League of Legends had a baby, it would be Victory," Oksana Kubushyna, Victory Project Lead, said in a statement. Each game lasts between 15-20 minutes, which is not only great for busy gamers, but also allows you to get in more games during a single session, earning more rewards and progression with less time spent. Players are given control of a squad of units. Using RTS-like controls, the way to win is by capturing and holding key map locations, or by decimating all enemy units. <iframe src="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/petroglyphgames/victory-1/widget/video.html" width="620" height="465" frameborder="0">> </iframe> There's lots of info and a handful of videos to digest on Victory's Kickstarter page.
