Assembled Next-Gen iPhone Photos, September 21 Launch Rumored?

iLab Factory next iPhone assembledIt's probably a safe bet at this point to say that the next iPhone (which probably won't be called iPhone 5) is going to look a lot like the leaked renders and parts we've seen in recent weeks. Still don't believe? How about these shots of a fully-assembled "new iPhone"?

iLab.cc posted a treasure trove of images on Sunday extensively detailing most of the parts for the next-generation iPhone widely expected to launch this fall, as well as a number of photos which show the device fully assembled, in all of its glory.

If the photos get you appropriately excited for the pending launch, a second report making the rounds on Monday morning prognosticates that we may not have very long to wait to get the device in our own hands.

iMore.com is reporting that Apple is planning a special media event for Wednesday, September 12, 2012 to unveil both the new iPhone as well as the mythical "iPad mini" and a refreshed iPod nano. At least in the case of the new iPhone, the rumor claims a release date will follow a mere nine days later on Friday, September 21.

Needless to say, the September date flies contrary to earlier reports of the new iPhone arriving in October, which falls in line with the way the iPhone 4S rolled out last year.

As always, take the release date rumors with a grain of salt -- we won't believe it until the invites go out from Apple, or better yet when CEO Tim Cook and friends are up on stage actually showing off the hardware.
