Sponsored Deals: $5 Friday DesktopShelves

DesktopShelves

I don’t get people who have hundreds of files and folders all over their Desktop. I mean, how can you seriously find anything? Me, I like a tidy Desktop. Sure I save things to the Desktop (like the images I use for these posts), but once a week or so I clean house, deleting almost everything from my Desktop.

Now if you’re of the “I like things on my Desktop and I’d like to organized it, but it needs style” set, I have something for you. To kick off $5 Friday check out DesktopShelves. DesktopShelves does one simple thing and does it elegantly. You create “shelves” (they look like shelves you have on your wall) to hold files and folders on your Desktop. It’s a virtual thing, really, everything is still in a folder in the Finder, but it looks better. Check out the movie after the jump.

First take a couple minutes and watch this video:

Okay, more than just holding files. More like a “I’d like these files or a snippet of something (is that a coolio feature or what?) on my Desktop in a neat, organized way that looks spiffy too.”

After looking at the app, I think I’m going to gift a copy each to my buddies AJ and Shane because their Desktops make my eyes bleed. Files and folders everywhere. See, it’s cool, it’s subtle, it’s elegant. Shelves on your Desktop. A virtual, but interactive, representation of the files you want to have access to quickly. At $5, I don’t think you can lose. Hmm, I might even pick it up myself…
